Hi again, OK I don't have the original photo so I guess I am sunk. I really appreciate the info you have given me.
I wish to thank all who were advising me. I think I know a little bit more than when I started. I have entered photos here before but never had a problem because I always had the original. I just didn't know a DVD photo should be handled differently. My apologies to all and thank you again, you are a wonderful bunch. I also didn't know dpi meant dots per inch, so as you can see I am learning.

Sometimes it's possible for the person who sent the photo in an email etc. to rescan for you,

there are instructions at the top of the 'photo restoration' thread for scanning also.

Hi Carol and Carolyn, fantastic job by both of you. I don't know how you did this with the very faint photo I submitted but thank you very much. I wish I knew how to increase the definition of the photo before submitting it so it would make your restoration easier but you certainly accepted the challenge and succeeded admirably. Well done again is all I can say.
