Dolan/O'Brian
« on: Sunday 22 November 15 17:40 GMT (UK) »
Please help. Looking for Andrew Dolan and Kate (Catherine) O'Brian born abt 1852 in Rosscommon, think Frenchpark area of Ireland. They ran away to England to get married in Walsall in October 1873. Kate's father was Dennis born 1827 but can't find his wife. Andrews father was Patrick but again no details about his wife either. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

There are potentially two Patrick Dolan fathers of interest and as the general Frenchpark area can be regarded as falling into two Catholic parishes either may be possibilities as the father of your Andrew. Unfortunately the records for the Kilcorkey Parish date only from 1865 and will not provide details of his birth, though a marriage of an Andrew may appear in the church records similar to the details below for the civil record in 1873.

A marriage of another Andrew Dolan in 1873 in the registration district Castlereagh which covers Frenchpark may assist by way of excluding him from your research should his father also be Patrick. You will need to obtain a research copy of this document or subscribe to rootsireland, both of which should identify the father’s name and townland. You will only find the mothers name from the baptismal record and unfortunately only records for the Tibohine parish are available.
