I have wondered if Grace remarried after Johns death in 1875, but it doesn't show any other married names on their childrens death records.

Forfarian...Yeah I have checked the name Grizel but doesn't come up with anything new.

Thanks for all your help really appreciated.

If you look for G Grant (her maiden name) this should show as women in Scotland retained their maiden name on death.

Mmmm,

For Edinburgh (alone) 1875 - 1888 there are 14 matches.

There are also other areas in the Lothians...Midlothian, West Lothian & East Lothian.

Did you possibly mix up the Surname & Forename on your search?

Hi
I have just had another look and checked all the Grace Grants between 1875 and 1888 on SP, feeling a bit flush so downloaded them all, and still nothing. She must have gone abroad and died after her husband passed. If she had died in Scotland and remarried there would be something in the deaths under the Grant name at least x  The joys of family history...

Did you try with G only as she may have been down as Gracie or as someone pointed out Grizel or similar?

Also, she may have died in hospital in a different area & registered there or possibly with another family member elsewhere on death?
