Did you Captain James SCOTT, died 1873, leave a Will...that might name children from his first marriage?

Great stuff, folks! I will check SP for that marriage, and for the deaths of the other two children. Also, I have that will - it's a Testament Dative, but it does name the daughters as only next of kin, so the son must have died before his father.

(I should have found that testament before now - can't think how I missed it! Grateful to Don's eagle eyes!)
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Dundee Evening Telegraph 12 Jul 1879
DEATHS:

At Broughton Lodge Huntingdon on 7th inst, Helen Smith Scott age 22. Eldest daughter of the late David Scott, Master Mariner

Also
Matching death on SP in 1863, registered in Brechin for Alexander Scott.
Matches with birth year of 1861.
Mother's maiden name: Goldie

EDIT:
I have copies of the  newspaper announcements relating to the death of Capt David Scott in 1867
The death of daughter Helen Smith Scott in 1879
The marriage of his daughter Lizzie Jane in 1883.

Can I post these on RC or is this against T&Cs? (  Does it constitute Copyrighted material?)

Thank you again. That 1863 death is indeed Captain David Scott's son Alexander.
