According to genuki Rosedale was split into 2 parishes East and West  and from Bulmer's directory of 1890 the parish Rosedale East included the post office which was  located at Rosedale Abbey. Not sure if that helps

High Shop is now The Orange Tree (Relaxing breaks in the North Yorks Moors).

My great great grandparents are at the shop in the 1871 census although I don't know for how long. I have a picture of the shop in the 1890s (I think) if you're interested.
