oh my goodness, definitely them and Eliza and Daniel have both sons Daniel and Joseph. So she must go by Elizabeth also. Confused why she would be Eliza on the marriage though if her name is in full Elizabeth?

Could just be the court or reporter presuming Eliza was a shortened name

This might have been the first marriage for her brother William Williamson 23/10/1855 St Mary Eccles to a Sarah Shaw his father William Williamson

Going by the second wife's name Thornton  I think this might be William Williamson in the 1871 census
William Williamson age 42 birthplace Blackburn 1829
Sarah Williamson age 32
Edward Thornton 12 stepson
Mary Alice Thornton 8 step daughter
George Williamson age 2 months
Piece 3969/149 page 28

I noticed this William Williamson birth place Blackburn there is this baptism 11/7/1828 Blackburn Parish father William mother Ellen..The father's occupation miller

There is also a George Williamson baptism6/10/1830 same parents
A marriage for George Williamson 9/7/1849 St Mary Eccles father William occupation miller
Spouse Ann Royle

I've got father William Williamson married to Ellen.
Have had a look about and think it might be Ellen Slater. Can anyone find if this is right?

On this census though William's wife appears to be called Ann - though everything else (mainly that he is the only one living in Winton) seems to fit

There do seem to be an abundance of William Williamson and there were a lot of millers around in those days!
