Missing babies
« on: Friday 27 November 15 13:19 GMT (UK) »
Myy gt-gt-grandmother said on the 1911 census that she had had 17 children but I am still missing some of them from the list of known births.

In the hope that some new resources or new RCers might be around since I last asked, can anyone spot any possibilities?

William Bradbury, a shingler, m Sarah Taylor in Pleck church, Walsall, Dec 1862
Known children:
John William b 1863 High fields, near Hall Green, Sedgeley
(then I have an address in 1864 of 2 Brunswick St, Woverhampton in 1864)
Joseph 1864 (b Wolverhampton)
Rebekah 1866 (ditto)
Bertram 1869 (Bilston)
by 1870 the family had moved to Warrington and had lots more babies there.

Just wondering if there were any more Staffordshire births and deaths (maybe in the 1866-69 gap).

Thanks for any help.

Pryce/Price (Welshpool, Liverpool)
Rawson (Leicester)
Upton (Desford, Leics)

Hello
Don't know if this helps but looking at the births and deaths 1862-1870 there are two babies
George Arthur Dec 1863  died same qrtr (birth 6b 298) buried Short Heath age 1 month 15.11th
Alice b and died Mar 1868  (birth 6b 572 and death 6b 349).
The only other death I can't find a burial for is Ann died Mar 1865 no age but there's no birth for her from 1862 either.

Looking at the definites you already have they could just fit but it's a tight squeeze.

Thanks for looking.
Their first baby, John William, was born June 1863 (I should have said this at the beginning, I'm sorry) so that rules out George.

Alice is a possibility - not least because their next daughter b 1870 in Warrington was Elizabeth Alice.

Not entirely [if my maths is right  ;)]; a June quarter registration could have been registered 1 Jun & the birth up to 6 weeks before that so the middle of April.  A Dec registration could have been as late as say 28 Nov [as he died aged 1 month same quarter] and may have been premature. So although it is pushing it it could just be possible. Joseph was registered Sep quarter 1864 so could have been late September again just possible.

What's the closest in actual birthdates you have for known children - say Bertram 1869 & Elizabeth Alice 1870?

Not actually a duplicate post because one is asking re staffs resources for 1863-1870 and the other for Warrington resources for 1870-1890ish ---

sorry if I seem to have duplicated but in view of two quite separate areas and different timeframes, I thought it might be best to have separate posts in those regions, hoping for people with specific regional knowledge/resources rather than more general stuff.

The reason I highlighted the duplication is that some chatters only stick to certain county boards and may just find information related to the other county, go to post and find someone has beaten them to it.
