There is a death of a Mary Duckett who was buried 16 Nov 1826 aged 35. So that could well be her

There's a burial of an infant - William Duckett, in Claydon at St James the Great in 1829.

This one looks like the son of Edward and Ann baptised 29 March 1829, buried 13 Sept 1829 age given as Infant so not likley to be connected - at least directly - however i reckon theses folks will be related.

The marriage you found groom in Banbury looks like a good option for his 2nd wife after the first one died and the reason for the child birth gap years

Thank you for your condolences groom

Decided to continue the line and have just located Susanna Wain nee Duckett's death certificate. I know death certificates are notoriously troublesome with the accuracy of detail contained, however the informant was Susanna's husband.

He and Susanna had married in Hexham, Warwickshire and that she had been 20 years when married which is consistent.  Her husband gives Susanna's birthplace as Claydon, Buckinghamshire which I am assuming is vastly different to Oxfordshire.  I originally located her birth place from the census records.

Her husband has noted that Susanna's parents were Thomas Duckit [a Boatman] and Susannah formerly Perkin.   ???

This information seems to change the previous thinking???

Is this the marriage certificate that you have?

Marriages Sep 1862
Duckett    Susannah
Wain    Charles
Foleshill    6d   439

But that doesn't give 20 years of marriage does it if she died in 1871?

Susannah Duckett
Birth Year:   abt 1823
Age:   39
Spouse  :   Charles Wain
Spouse :   40
Marriage  Date:   23 Jul 1862
 Parish:   Exhall
Father  :   Thomas Duckett
Spouse Father  :   John Wain

They were both quite old for a marriage weren't they? I wonder if they'd been living together and decided to marry before they emigrated, but then told everyone they'd been married longer?

Looks as if that was the case as here they are in 1861 before the marriage.

It is possible that is her mother died when she was young, her husband didn't know her name and just guessed at it.
