No, his birth details have already been given to you by Sue.
Perhaps you should thoroughly read & then copy all the replies that have been posted on the thread.

Is Thomas a son of Sarah before she married/ partnered Maurice Twomey..  looking for immigration details for this couple.  Are you able to see what year this family made their way to Qld from Victoria..  I do appreciated your help.  Thank you. bevcal

You are welcome Bev.
As Merlin suggests, the answers to your questions are in the replies already given.
The year of the removal from WA to QLD cannot be ascertained precisely, but the Electoral Roll details give a good indication.

bevcal,

Please bear in mind these findings for the family are only speculative possibilities.
Certificates will help to make things more certain.
Sue

Adding for further speculation ;D
On the Electoral list above.....

Thomas and Elizabeth were possibly husband and wife.
Thomas was the son of Sarah
Maurice Augustus was I think the son of Thomas and Elizabeth
Margarita was the wife of Maurice Augustus
Ellinor was the wife of Maurice James

 ;D ;D ;D
It has taken me awhile to digest all this info and piece it together.

This looks like them as assisted immigrants to Vic

TOOMAY Maurice
Age   22
Arrived July 1852
Per LADY MACDONALD
8 120
Born Cork. Can read. Roman Catholic.

TOOMAY Sarah
Aged 19
Arrived July 1852
Per LADY MACDONALD
8 120
Born Armagh. Church of England.Reads and Writes,

They were supported  "on own account"

These details indicate Thomas, born in 1853, was the first child.

bevcal,
I would strongly suggest you download the 1922 marriage  certificate of Edward George TWOMEY and Edith Alice MANTLE.

https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/queryEntry.m?type=births

It is the only way to tie all the threads together and be a little more certain we have the right  family history.

The extensive information on the certificate will have been given by the couple themselves and I am particularly interested to know Edward's age at marriage.

The only indication I have found of Edward's age is from the cemetery record (which I have linked above) and shows 48 years at death.  We have not located a birth record in Victoria.

The shipping list shows Sarah to be 19 years in 1852 so about 48 in 1881. :o

There is an inaccuracy somewhere! ::)

Also we suspect Maurice TWOMEY, Sarah's husband, may have died in May 1880 .

Hi,

Jus a bit of info

Note:  If you are researching Maurice Augustus Twomey I believe that he was also just called Gus Twomey or as per the 1899 WA PO Directory, Gustave Twomey, hairdresser at Yarloop.  After being the Publican at Yarraman for a few years when they came over from WA he moved to  Tweed Heads and became a hairdresser again then in about 1918 moved onto Sydney.

Maurice Augustus (Gus) Twomey died in NSW in 1963 age 86 parents, Thomas and Elizabeth. B.

Also, the Edward Twomey on the Qld State Electoral Roll in 1900 at Gympie had been born about 1869 as he registered as 31 when he qualified to be on the roll in 1900.

Gippsland Times Monday 17th May 1880, page 3.

Amongst all the local news and events appears this.

"Yesterday a man names Maurice Twomey died whilst being conveyed to the Hospital from the Star Hotel.  He was suffering from heart disease."

Same newspaper but on page 2, the funeral notice.

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/61914105?searchTerm=

Maybe Maurice was involved somehow with the Star Hotel which I think was located in Sale.

Gerry

PS:  Just realised that Sue had already posted the news article re the death, sorry for the double up.
