Hannah Hambridge - born 1814
« on: Sunday 29 November 15 02:02 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for parents of Hannah.  She was born 1814 - Kingston, Surrey, England and died June 4, 1887.
I do know that she had a son, Alfred, in 1837 but never listed the fathers name.  Was also hoping for census records for Hannah.  I don't believe she ever married.  And I'm very curious of her life and how and where she lived.
thanks all.

Hi

There is this one that is a possible Baptism for your Hannah.

England and Wales Non Conformist and Non Parochial Registers 1567 - 1970
Downing Street Independent Cambridge
Cambridgeshire

Hannah HAMBRIDGE daughter of George and Hannah HAMBRIDGE of Kingston, Surrey, was born October 10th 1811 and Baptized December 31st 1811 by me William HARRIS

There were two other children to this same couple on this Register, Martha HAMBRIDGE 1805 and George HAMBRIDGE 1809 both Baptised Kingston upon Thames Surrey.

Cheers

Again, this is looking good for being your Hannah, but no sign of a child with her before the 1851 Census I can see. An Alfred HAMBRIDGE appears on some Criminal and Prison records, and a possible marriage to a Charlotte, but not sure if it is the one that you are looking at.

Hi

On the marriage between Alfred HAMBRIDGE and Charlotte HEAD, the groom gives his father as William HAMBRIDGE a butcher. Could be that the name William was from his Grandfather ??

Thanks for your replies Karenlee.
Yes, this is the Hannah that I am looking for - that you have listed in the 1851 and 1861 census.  Alfred was sentenced to 4 months in prison (19-3-1860) for embezzlement - I would love to know where to find the prison and criminal records.
Alfred was baptised Nov 19, 1837 which would match his age of 13 at time of 1851 census.
And Alfred does marry Charlotte Head November 6, 1871

And again, if I am going by the census of 1851, and her age is 37, would make her born 1814
thanks
