Beatrice Winifred Gain

born 1910 Battle registration district.
1911 census she is shown as 8 month old baby described as 'nurse child" (born Westfield)  in household of Amelia Emma King aged 59 (Widow born Rye), her son George King aged 32 single and daughter Daisy Frances King aged 16 single born Brede. Please can anyone find a baptism record that would give me Beatrice's parents?  Thanks

Can't see a baptism you might be better to get her birth certificate to see what it says look like she married 1937 Battle Sussex

I can't see a baptism either, but there are a lot of Gain families in Westfield in 1911. I agree with Rosie, her birth certificate would be the safest way to determine her parents. Even if you did find a baptism, that might not give her mother's maiden name. The fact that she was fostered out could mean that she was illegitimate.

Her wedding was reported in the Hastings St Leonard's Observer, 12 Jun 1937. She was given away by her Uncle, (Initial & Surname only + address).  No other mention of family.
