imuseum website
« on: Sunday 29 November 15 15:04 GMT (UK) »
I was using Ancestry and I noticed that the link to the imuseum BMD records was broken. I then went to the site and I can't seem to find the BMD's  ??? ???

Does anyone know what has happened? Have they moved them to a new site?

Have you tried ManxBMD.com?

Who were you looking for?

Might be significant? www.imuseum.im has had a make-over.
Try using it directly. Click on People, and Advanced Search. ;D

Yes I have used ManxBMD.com but it's not the easiest site to find stuff on.

I wasn't looking for anyone in particular. I was just trying to confirm a match for a marriage from Ancestry to see if there were any other possibles.

I see that with advanced search it brings me to the right area.

I sent Ancestry an error report but whether they act on it or not is a whole other thing.

Thank you for your help.

Yes I have used ManxBMD.com but it's not the easiest site to find stuff on.

I usually leave the year blank, and just search on names!

Beware though; some of their transcribers have transcribed the grooms, but not the brides?! ::)
Fortunately, I can corroborate by a quick visit to The Civil Registry, where I can peruse the microfiche ;D

Yes...I knew about the grooms only bit. Years ago I asked them why they only had half the record. It made no sense...LOL

If you have problems - just ask!
I live only a few minutes walk from the Manx Museum (& it's library) and the Civil Registry.
