This is probably a long shot, but in 1826,the two brothers mentioned above were transported to NSW for sheep stealing in England.Richard was 25,his brother 22.Is there anyway of finding out what happened to them.Their father had already been deported! Thanks

Is this Richard Rhodes who travelled on ship Midas convicted 9th March 1826 Staffordshire.
If so, he received a Conditional Pardon on 30th September 1847 which excluded him for travel to UK & Ireland.

There is an application to Marry on 16th December 1839 which was granted to Sarah Wade.
There is a Richard Rhodes appearing on 1859/1860 & 1860/1860 in Hawkesbury District NSW Electoral Rolls.

That is so exciting, thank you so much.Do you think Adam was pardoned as well? The 2 brothers were caught with another man,who was a butcher(,he was 48),sheep stealing. They were caught red handed.Just as they were about to be executed, they were reprieved, the other man(whose story i am finding out about)got 14 years, but died on the prison hulk in 1828.It is a sad story, one mistake cost him his freedom and his life, but the brothers were transported and HAD a life.I wonder if they stayed out of trouble.ThanK you.Glenys

Re their Dad .... can you provide some info about him please?  .... name, when transported .... etc.

The NSW State Records Office has online indexes, including a combined index of convict records.  Here is the live link to that index.

Richard RHODES, tried at the Staff Ass (Staffordshire Assizes) arrived on the Midas in 1827.
Adam RHODES, tried Staff ass arrived on the Albion 1827.

Exactly,   NSW family history studies in the 19th Century is fascinating, each decade has huge changes from the previous one.
