Michael Clancy and Agnes Bermingham
« on: Sunday 29 November 15 18:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi all
Francis Clancy married my grandfathers sister Mary O'Neill on 26th April 1896
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633504#page/115/mode/1up

Francis Clancy birth  and Twin Mary Agnes and Matilda
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01gkt/
there seems an awful gap between births and unfortunately Ballinasloe microfilm does not cover marriages prior to this or after it to see if i could find Michael and Agnes's marriage.
Francis 1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Trinity_Ward/Denzille_Street/81846/

on the 1901 census i found an Agnes Clancy who could be his mother with two of her grandchildren and a daughter Catherine who says she was born Athlone circa 1871
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/South_Dock/Grattan_Street/1350802/
her grandson Michael Tarpey was born 1880 in Dunlo
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGGK-PT5
i found a death in 1894 for Marcella born circa 1855
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FTZR-WXS
Agnes Clancy seems to have returned to Ballinasloe and died there in 1909 born circa 1836
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FRNS-63K
Michael and Francis Tarpey seem to have headed off to England by 1911
Michael in South Manchester and Frances Tarpey as Frank in overseas military Punjab.

Frances Tarpey may have returned to Dublin and Married Mary Bergin in 1917
top 3 here   http://www.rootschat.com/links/01gku/

any help in connecting Francis Clancy to the Tarpey's greately appreciated or any thing to add to this tree.

I can see an 1883 birth for a Francis Tarpy, also an 1894 baptism for a James Joseph Tarpy, in both cases the parents are John Tarpy and Marcella Clancy.

There is also a marriage of a John Tarpy to Ellen Clancy in Ballinasloe in 1879, the bride's father's details fit in with this being Marcella.

Gaffy
thank you so much for all this it is much appreciated,i cant wait to tell Francis Clancy's
grandson who is in his 70s and not too well at the moment having recovered from an operation,we usually meet every 6 months but i have not seen him in over a year as he cant get out yet.
I only made contact with him in 2009 through finding his grandmothers grave in 2009 one of her daughters was only buried as recently as 1997 in same grave so i went to Nicholl's Undertakers in Lombard St and they had the informants address her Niece who lived about a half mile from where i was born in Rathfarnham in my grandfather's house, she put me in contact with the above grandson and the rest is history.
Believe it or not i spent hours yesterday on the Ballinasloe micfofilm looking for those births but unfortunately i only went down the left hand side of page which took me hours with all that squiggly writing and very tiring on the eyes, most of what i was looking for as you found was on the right hand page just my luck anyway thank you most sincerely for searching and finding them for me.
My cousin has never mentioned this branch of his family so should be new to him he will be getting an email shortly hope it gives him a lift.
Many thanks

Christopher Clancy born 1862 possibly married Catherine Nannery 3rd June 1889 Dn North
Kate's birth ? https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FPTB-ZDQ

1901  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Arran_Quay/Phibsboro_Road/1335696/
no sign of them 1911 so Christopher probably returned to Ballinasloe and died there in 1902  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FTXD-N2P
