A LONG SHOT !!
The way I see it at the moment is, William Edward would be about 1 year 9 months or so on 1911, what about looking for an Edward but not Winkley

Hi Louisa,
Thanks for your interest. You say "we are not allowed to give information out about 1911".  Can you explain?  I thought there were no restrictions on this now.
Thanks

Because the copyright situation re the 1911 census is so confusing, RootsChat (or rather Trystan & Sarah) have decided that they can't afford a protracted legal suit, and therefore the situation remains that we, on RootsChat, are not allowed to disclose information from that census.

Hi Garrad,
Thanks for the clarification.  It still seems strange that there are copyright problems just for 1911. You'd think it would apply to all or none  :(

Hi Louisa,
I'm not aware of any Duley's in the family. I've tried a few permutations but nothing useful. I tried the 'Edward' route but nothing came of it (and he's William on the electoral registers and in 1939)

Thanks again for your thoughts  :)

The 1911 census images are copyright to Bright Solid Ltd - the owners of FindMyPast.
Previous censuses are copyright The National Archives.

At least, that's what I understand! ;D ;D

So, they must sub-contract to Ancestry, presumable with 'royalties? ???
Whatever... as long as we can use them. Pity we can't discuss them tho'.
