WHICH death registration district?

Hello,

Martha YOUNG died on 21.2.1955 @ Ellesmere Road, Weybridge, SURREY.

Her date of birth was 7.12.1868.

FreeBMD has two possible death entries for the March quarter 1955:

Martha YOUNG, aged 80, registered @ Surrey N.W. And also:
Martha YOUNG, aged 85, registered @ Surrey Mid E.

Martha would have been 86 at the time of her death so neither age quite fits. However I am assuming one of these entries is hers. With local knowledge, can someone please identify the correct registration.

Weybridge comes under Surrey North Western Registration District.

If you click on the registration district shown in both entries you are taken to another couple of screens which tell you which subdistricts belong where.

Weybridge appears to belong to Surrey NW

As you have now established that her death is the 80 year old.
It is likely that the person giving the info at death was not 100% certain of her age.
Or the 0 in 80 was a badly written 6 perhaps?

Thank you Carol. I can also see a scenario where perhaps the old lady had "fudged" her age for many years so everyone thought she was 80 instead of 86 at the time of her death. Anyway I think we have now identified which registration is the correct one.
