Some help with John Cowen
« on: Tuesday 01 December 15 21:50 GMT (UK) »
There's a fascinating story behind John Cowen and I would love to find some of his descendants.  I could do with some help on the details, please.
He died in Hull in February 1897, aged 82.  He is said to have been born in Beeford and to have had children, including a Thomas, some of whom became journalists.  I can't find a marriage in East Yorkshire.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

1861 census - same address, same people, except Jane and the addition of Mary F A aged 9.  Thomas is now 15 and a Joiner.

Hello, Ellen, thanks for replying.
I don't know how much you know about John.  I have some news clippings about him, including a report of his funeral, if you're interested.
