John Pound - Bedwelty
« on: Wednesday 02 December 15 20:15 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone please check a death of a John Pound registered Bedwelty Deaths June 1904 aged 28. If this is the guy I am seeking then his wife's name is Jemima.  I would appreciate any details, particularly his address and occupation etc.
Thanks

There is a John Pound married to a Jemima Howell 1896 but the birth year is given as 1874. The marriage took place Dec 28 so the grooms given age of 22 would give a birth year of 1874

Father John Pound and brides father also John

Many thanks one and all for your input; some info I already found but I was pleased to receive the coroner's inquest.  My main aim here was to find where he lived and as the inquiry was held at the Dynevor Arms, Tirphil, it is very probable he resided in Tirphil.

Thanks, Regards, R

In 1901 John & family were living at 3 Old Brithdir Cottages.  The next household was registered at 1 New Houses, Coed Cae, Tirphil.

Hi Ray
Thanks for the details, Coed Cae is situated half-way between Brithdir and Tirphil.  If only the enumerators could be a bit more imaginative when they named these dwellings - old Brithdir Cottages, New Houses Coed Cae; they 'christened' dwellings in Brithdir as Old Bristol Terrace, New Bristol Terrace, Brithdir New Houses - it can be a really headache on times.
