No problem Stuart.

Wish I had thought of this earlier for myself when asked "What would you like for Christmas mum?

Must keep it in mind for next year.

Living in Scotland I have been able to get the (discounted) voucher cards in the local library and I was also been given some for Christmas last year :D My sister ordered them (post or online) and must have put my address for delivery because they turned up out of the blue shortly before Christmas 8).

They do indeed have a panel on them which you scratch off and then enter the code in the voucher code box mentioned above. I have never had any trouble with them - well other than spending them too fast...

I've just seen this thread and have just looked at the " order voucher option" on SP.

There's no benefit/advantage in buying them from SP
The cost is still £7 for 30 credits .

"Start Up" vouchers purchased from a library cost £8 ( price increase from £7 recently) but they are pre loaded with 60 credits, which is why they are so popular.

As I mentioned some family history societies do sell them at discounted prices for 30 credits

Appreciate OP question has been answered but:

Quote:
Please note: Top up vouchers purchased through our libraries are only valid for use with accounts created using a starter voucher purchased through the same scheme. They cannot be used to top up existing accounts. Existing account holders may purchase start-up vouchers to open an new account but should be aware that it is not possible to link accounts."

From :- http://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=27965

Is this actually correct? It says so on the link to Lanarkhire Council website but certainly not my experience in using top-ups from Renfrewshire Libraries. If it is correct, then it will discourage many folk that have existing accounts from using these top-ups because, as it correctly states,  you cannot link accounts together.

My experience was the reverse. I could not add top-ups to the starter account (60 credits) which I initially set up. Subsequently had to set up a new account and since then, for several years, have always added credits via top-ups thereby getting 20% discount.

Slightly confused. Do libraries in different councils differ? Or is Lanarkshire just plain wrong on this?

I work in a library, where we sell vouchers.
It seems that SP now allow top ups to be used on a personal online acct
( one set up by yourself using a username and password of your choice)

When these were first launched, they could only be used against a start up.
I don't know when it changed

Many thanks for the clarification. Makes sense now.

Perhaps N. Lanarkshire should update their website otherwise they will discourage some from using this service.
