Great,
I know Ashley Park, the Atkinson family lived there.
down to the next generation or so, a John Atkinson married Sarah Davey (or Darey not sure) their daughter Julia Atkinson b 1873 married a Patrick Kennedy b 1870, they lived in a place called Derrinlea, different spellings over the years. Patrick Kennedy's Uncle is my GG grandfather.
I will now go to Private Messages.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

William Hodgins 1765-Lucan, Ireland d) 1856 Modreeny married:1794 to Eleanor Revington Atkinson  b)Dec 14 1768/1770 Ashley Park Estate, Tipperary d) Jan 6, 1871 Ontario (her parents: Anthony Thomas Atkinson and Margaret Revington)
William's father: James and grandfather John)

SON-George Hodgins b)1805 Modreeny d) 1891 Middlesex, Ontario Canada
married Nancy Ellen Hill b)1805 m-Tipperary 1829? d)Aug 30 1866 Middlesex County, Ontario

I was told that most of my family came from Modrenny but it also looks like some were from outside Dublin. I will visit Modreeny as that is the last place (as far as I know) that they were before coming to Canada (Lucan,Ontario, Middlesex Country). Thank you everyone for responding.

Appreciate this is an old post but Juddy, maybe we are related?  I'm a descendant of the Lucan Hodgins/Armitage line.  My maternal grandmother was the daughter of Francis Berton Hodgins, sone of James Hasket Hodgins.

Sorry to say.
Patrick Kennedy and Julia did not move to Thurles, stayed in Cloughkeating.
They are both buried in Ardcrony, halfway between Nenagh and Borrisokane.
My relatives.

So they're not in the 1901 census, Maggsie.

Only 22 people listed in Cloughkeating - no Kennedy name.
