Leah Biggs born Dudley was enumerated as 1 month old in the 1881 census, in a caravan in Stourbridge with her parents John Biggs (wheelwright, 25 b. Birmingham) and Sarah (26 b Black Heath, Worcs).  RG11/2887/121/49.

The family seem to be enumerated under as travelling showmen under surname Hayes in 1891, again in a caravan in Stourbridge. RG12/2302/28/20.

1901 Leah's family seem to be using the name Hayes
after John Hayes death it seems Sarah reverted back to Biggs
on Leah's marriage to John William Owen she names her father as John Biggs

Hi
Parents marriage seems to be Dudley Sep 1873 6c 78 John Biggs and Sarah Groom.(13 July St Thomas)

1871 census Cradley Hew St
Benjamin Groom 39 coal miner Oakengates Shropshire
Ann 39 Shropshire Tong Castel?
Sarah 16 Rowley Regis
James 13 malster assistant Cradley
Rebecca 11
William 6
Samuel 11 months

the 1861 has them at the same address.
Sarah died as Biggs age 81 Stourbridge June 1934 6c 43.John seems to have died as John Hayes age 50 Birmingham Sep 1906 6d 101.
The 1911 entry for the number of children Sarah has had and lost is truly frightening.
Her birth registration looks to be Sarah Jane Groom June 1854 Stourbridge 6c 212.

Hi
Just to add that in 1871 John Hayes age 15 showman is next to a
James Hayes 37 Birmingham
Caroline 35 Dudley
Louisa Parsons 39 sister in law Dudley.

The couple are probably John's parents married as James Biggs ST Thomas Dudley 24.9.1852,and Caroline Smith.
Fathers Robert Biggs wheelwright and James Smith grinder
Caroline baptised 22.5.1836 daughter of James and Ann smith Dudley
sister Louisa 22.3.1835 who married Thomas Parsons West Bromwich Sep 1860 6b 775.

Children baptised as Biggs
Jane 13.11./16th 1852 St Thomas Dudley and John and Robert 24.12.1860 St Barts Birmingham wheelwright(where grandmother Ann Smith was living).

If you track down John and Sarah's marriage it should confirm the name of his father.
