India: Calcutta marriage 1848 - would witnesses be listed?
« on: Wednesday 16 December 15 06:52 GMT (UK) »
On FamilySearch is listed a marriage between Joseph Bond and Eliza Gill in Calcutta on 26 December 1848. Would the marriage certificate list the witnesses?

I'm wondering if Eliza's stepfather, George Martindale Marmaduke Irving, was one of them?

Wow, thanks, ShaunJ, that's a surprise. Susan was George's wife - I thought she was back home in Sydney. George died in 1850 in Calcutta, I guess she came home after that.
