13. Margaret Erpe bo. 1560 = Sir Thomas Adams of Wem died 1607     a correction

13. Margaret Erpe bo. 1560 = Thomas Adams of Wem died 1607

son is Sir Thomas Adams born 1586

http://www.melocki.org.uk/salop/WemPart1.html
Still loyalty must have been strong in Wem, for Sir Thomas Adams, knight and baronet, Lord Mayor of London, and greatest of the sons of Wem, founded Wem Grammar School as a school of the Church in 1650, when the Church was oppressed by the Commonwealth. And Newtown Chapel was consecrated on November 10th, 1666, by Bishop John Racket of Lichfield and Coventry " by the name of the blessed Charles King and Martyr," and only a very few churches have this dedication. For the number of the population of Wem at a later date we are indebted to the amateur census taken by the Rev. Richard Walker in 1800, together with that very curious gentleman's religious classification of the same, as set forth on a fly leaf at the beginning of vol. ix of the Registers.
