Frederick William Evans
« on: Monday 28 December 15 10:37 GMT (UK) »
Good morning, I was wondering if anybody would be able to assist me.

I am trying to locate the Mother / Father of Frederick William Evans.

Frederick William Evans lived in Toddington, Bedfordshire, and according to the census in 1891 was living with Grandfather William Evans at 48, Finns Lane, Toddington, Bedfordshire, England.

I believe that he was born in 1877.

He served in the Army from 1896 and sadly died on February 14, 1902, in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, at the age of 25. He left his effects to his grandfather.

I just cannot work out / trace the parents.

Any information would be great in finding the missing link.

Regards

Mark

Just a thought

In 1871 the eldest daughter living with the family was Sarah A Evans  and she is not living with her parents or Frederick in 1881.   I can't see her in 1881 listed as Evans or a marriage for her.  I wonder she was listed as West in 1871 living as a grandchild with Frederic West and a grand mother -All born Toddington????

Martha Hyde 74
Frederic West 4 Grandchild
Sarah A. West 24  Grandchild

There  is a birth of Frederic William West in  March Qtr 1877  Woburn  3b 413

I think Sarah Ann West/Evans -possible mother of Frederick may have been born before her  parents marriage  as I found this birth  for her

Sarah Ann Evans West Sep Qtr 1855   Woburn 3b   360

And there is a marriage of William Evans and Mary Ann West in Dec Qtr 1855  Woburn 3b 954

In earlier census years Martha is listed as Martha Hide - the wife of  a Joseph Hide and I think this is the couples marriage in 1845 with Martha's surname listed as West!!    https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N2SJ-8JV

Edit -And this the baptism of Martha's daughter Mary Ann West in 1836 (who married William Evans ) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JQ1C-H99
And in 1851 Mary is living as the daughter in law (step daughter) of Joseph Hide in Toddington
Joseph Hede 40
Martha Hede 42
Mary West    15
Diannal West 11

Hope this makes sense :)
