Two illegitimate children?
« on: Tuesday 29 December 15 21:14 GMT (UK) »
James Harris was baptised at Condover in 1779 as the illegitimate child of Sarah Harris. No father's name is given. There is also a Martha Harris who was baptised in 1774 as the illegitimate child of Sarah 'Harries' and a Mr Evans (no first name). Is it possible that James and Martha were siblings or were there two Sarah Harris' around the same time.

 :)

have you seen these 2 as well
also in Condover
christening 29th July 1781 Mary Harris - father Thomas Harris / mother Sarah Harris
christening 26th july 1782 Thomas Harris - father Thomas Harris / mother Sarah Harris
Thomas Harris married a Sarah Morral in Condover 15th august 1779 ....1 week before the christening of James Harris ??....I wonder if she gave the name Harris because as soon as the baby was born they were getting married ??....something to think about ....?

Martha is given as Evans or Harries on familysearch.org
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NGDJ-87D

William Evans b 1745 - died 1750 - (parents Richard and Elizabeth )so he can't be the father
Richard Evans christened 1st Jan 1749 - parents Richard Evans and Elizabeth
so - if the father named Evans was also from Condover - it looks to be Richard ....no other male Evans born that period in Condover - thats if he was around Sarah Harris age group - of course he could have been a lot older ??

Everything you have found makes sense and also explains why I couldn't find a baptism for Sarah Harris!

Thanks very much,
