Thomas and Mary Dixon Hungerford Berkshire circa 1760-1780
« on: Sunday 03 January 16 06:01 GMT (UK) »
Hello, can anybody please help with info on Thomas and Mary (maiden name unknown) Dixon of Lambourn Berkshire. Children were Thomas 1774, James. Mary, Shadrach and John.
Cannot find baptism, marriage or death records for Thomas in Berkshire. There was a marriage of Thomas Dixon and Mary Eatall 6 May 1776 at Baydon Wiltshire just up the road from Berkshire. Also a marriage of Thomas Dixon and Mary Fishlock 4 Aug 1776 at Winterbourne, Bassett Wiltshire, which is just a bit further away than Baydon.
Has anybody any ideas please?
Thanks,
Greg

How do you know he was married to Mary? Their son Thomas born Lambourne 1777 was in the 14th Regiment of Light Dragoons-attestation 4/12/1800 until 1820. He was discharged and the reason given was that he was worn out. He was 43 years old. You may of course already know this.
regards.

Hi,

The mar. of Thomas Dixon in 1766 in Baydon looks very promising as the transcripts from the WiltsFHS show that Thomas was of Aldbourne at time of mar. By Banns

Aldbourne, Baydon & Lambourne are all together.
