After this thread was revived wivenhoe found this for me;

Father Costello, at 1894, is formerly of Auckland, but is not now (1894) in Auckland....and is still alive, is how I am reading this.   Possibility?

Using ParersPast, Father COSTELLO died 7 Dec 1912, priest at Palmerston North, started at Auckland...53 years old...trained in Co. Clare......

Last bit of info I have found today;
Cut/pasted from info found whilst doing a lot of googling.

I have now read the full entry on Paperspast;
Patrick Costello was Educated Catholic College of Innis, County Clare.
Ordained by the Bishop of Killaloa

The Very Rev. Patrick Curtis Costello

The Very Rev. Patrick Curtis Costello took charge of the Palmerston North parish in 1905.

He was born in Ireland, educated in Paris and at Prior Park, Bath, Somerset, England.

Father Costello was ordained in the year 1882 in Ireland, came to New Zealand in the same year, and was stationed at Auckland.
Subsequently he became administrator of the Auckland Roman Catholic Cathedral, and, later, parish priest at Parnell.
After a trip to England he was stationed successively at Gisborne, Wellington, Westport, and Marton, before receiving his present charge

Biographical Notices of Clare-born from New Zealand Newspapers 1868-1943;
COSTELLO, On April 11, 1888. At the Grey River Hospital, Michael Costello, native of Killaloe, Co. Clare, Ireland and late of North Town, aged 48 years.
(Born c 1840)

Must be related I would think to Patrick Costello given pob

So Please please can anyone help me with any of the people mentioned as Cousins of Mary Jane Purdy (My Grandmother)

Regards,
Trish :)

Hi halmark,
Thanks you so much for your replies.

I have found 2 possible baptisms 1859 for Patrick Moloney on the Parish Registers link you provided.

I may have to get the 1912 NZ Death Cert to see what it contains.

I had found the Delahunty info.

The other link at at Clare Library I will try later as must be off to Work

Hi Sinann,
Thank you for your interest.
If you can provide the link to the info on Lord/Lady Gough it would be appreciated.
I had years ago tried to research them (The Peerage etc) but found it all very confusing as their were so many variants and could find no link to Moloneys/Costellos in their Line.

Cheers,
Trish :)

It was only a house they bought in Galway, it was just the spelling I wanted to confirm.
There is lots about Lord Vicount Gough's career but very little about his children.

http://www.limerickcity.ie/media/mlp216.pdf

Viscount Hugh Gough didn't live in Galway so would it be his son Captain the Hon. George Gough later second Viscount who is the grandfather, as he seems to have spent time there.

I can't find any Whalings, of any discription, Wheelings perhaps?
