Restoration Software Recommendations??
« on: Sunday 10 January 16 18:26 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I have often looked on this forum at the numerous photo restoration work that has been done.  I was wondering if some of you would be kind enough to recommend the types of software that you use?  If you are not allowed to say this on the public forum, I'd be happy to receive private messages with this information.

Thank you

Hi Borderlass,

I use photoshop CC myself that I pay for with a monthly subscription but this can be expensive if you are only starting to get interested in Photograph restoration. Trystan likes to the G.I.M.P which has a lot of the tools Photoshop has but is free

There are lots of video tutorials on youtube that show you "how to clone" etc to help you on the learning curve.

Hi BL...A good recommendation from Sarah there to start with a free programme...this will help you to get started and find out if this hobby is for you before you incur any cost. I use Photoshop Elements v 9 for Windows...also available for Mac users. Earlier versions can be obtained at a reasonable cost that do the same job with great results. There are many online tutorials for most photo editing software packages.
Good Luck.
