Interestingly an Elisha Miller, aged 77 was also buried in Norwood Cemetery in 1866. This could be John William's father.

That's interesting, could be worth following that up.

Thank you. Yes Elisha died in 1866. I shall see if I can search that burial ground.
He did live at St martins in Field Westminster. I see John married Elizabeth Robbins at Westminster.

There are some Norwood burials on 'Find a Grave' --- but I can't see any for Elisha or John William - maybe there is no headstone, or no-one has entered these in that particular site.

The cemetery office may be able to help though.

Thanks again. If this is the right one [feeling hopeful] it would appear that they had no children. Are there any records for lighter man. what was it? I presume it has something to do with water as he was also a barge builder. feeling isolated down here in Oz.
