Elizabeth Barclay, Nee Rees . aka Betsy Rees . She died Oct Nov Dec 1875. Where is she buried ?
None of the local churchyards have her name in and around the Bridgend area.
 I cannot find her !
She was born in The Merthyr, Aberdare, Hirwaun area.
She was married in the parish of Penderyn .

Can anyone help find her ?

Just east of Coytrahen is the Independent Chapel, Brynmenyn + burial ground. Did your check of the Bridgend area include this site?

Sut Ydych chi, a diolch am eich help unwaith eto.

No I did not check it out. AND it is only a few hundred yards from my house !!!!!!!

I will have to find out who has the records , as the church has been a private house for some time but the churchyard with all the resting places are still there.

I can't believe I forgot that one and it is only just a shot distance from where she lived !!

Mike,
Croeso,

If you search Rootschat for "Betharan" it will return a previous post which mentions the records held (or lack of).

Sad to say the M.I.'s for Betharan do not show Elizabeth Barclay. GFHS are going to check their master index but I don't hold out much luck as I have checked most of their booklets, The original church records for the entire parish, Newspapers etc etc

So back to square one

Hermit's death was registered in the Merthyr Tydfil registration district - 1889. Have you found a burial for him?

Might Elizabeth have returned to the area of her birth to be buried? Has your check extended to the Merthyr/Aberdare/Hirwaun area?

I have had GFHS check their database and they have no record of a burial in Glamorgan. I have yet to check Brecon. As Hirwaun and particularly Penderyn where they were married.

Out of interest checked Hermit's death 1889. There's a short para in several Welsh papers (Welshnewspapers on line) which led to -

Do you have Elizabeth's death cert or simply the GRO index (not that it would necessarily take the search forward)?
