help find wilfred smith

can any one find wilfred smith ,  a locomotive driver i have his marriage in march 1923 at easington durham to ellen spry , i have found ellen spry,s family but i can not find anything on wilfred i dont know his age or his birth place or anything at all apart from the above can anyone help , [ i dont have the marriage certificate ] please

With so many Wilfred Smith's out there (and I only looked at births 1890-1905) I feel you MUST buy the marriage certificate! ::)

That will have Wilfred's age (hopefully!) and his father's name and occupation.

There are 5 Wilfreds registered in Easington alone, in that period.
And 32 in County Durham and Northumberland.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

i do know that in 1952 parliamentary and local govement electoral register there was a winifred h smith [ with  doris s smith  winfreds daughter ]living at ymca saville place st nicholas ward

If you know full details of Ellen have you tried looking from her with Wilfred in 1939 Register?

i have searched just now and cant find a ellen smith at easington 1939 census or there daughter doris spry smith 1923 , i found a mary and a margaret but no ellen , i also found a wilfred 1899  with a francis 1871

Perhaps they were no longer in Easington?

Please note that the 1939 Register is not a census!
It's data was collected over many years, from 1939 to 1991, rather than on a specified day.

Records of people younger than 100 and still alive, or who died after 1991 are officially closed.

It also uses the names of councils, rather than towns (because it was the councils who wanted & collected the data?!)
