I see what you mean about being grainy but it's not too bad.  As you say, with a bit of tinkering by someone who knows how, should be able to get a better look to it.

Certainly moved on from cricket then! Obviously the computer wasn't able to read between the lines.  I don't know why they don't get a human being to fill in what the computer misses out.

Looks as though he may be in his 50s to 60s.

Well I hope the Somerset CC will be happy with this 'cos it's probably the only one they are going to get!

The photo from the 1924 newspaper was used Stephen Hill in his book Somerset Cricketers 1882-1914 published in 2016 by and available from Halsgrove.com. Includes a full biography of him on page 57.
