Thank you so much for looking this up for me. I have only been doing this for a month. My family are Williams, Davies, Griffiths and they all seem to choose the same names. I haven't done anything with the local records offices. I have been ordering birth certificates through GRO.  The 1897 marriage cert does indeed have Peter's father as a Shoemaker. I hadn't picked up the burial for Mary Griffiths and that certainly fits (Can I ask where you found that Rosie?) What do you think is my best bet? I don't know how to look up records locally. I don't mind paying but I don't particularly want to send for certificates just to rip them up (or is this a hazard of doing this and am I being a bit naive?)

FindMyPast has parish registers for some parts of Wales including Mold.
