« on: Saturday 16 January 16 18:10 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if any member has the above book please.  I am interested in Llywel.
My ancestors come from Trecastle and wondered if they were mentioned in book before I buy cd book.  Thanks

I've got a copy, llangatwg - I used to live in Trecastle and I knew Tommy Evans (who died some years ago).  I'll see if I can locate the book and if so, I'll let you know.  Mind you, it is rather subjective research so you can't rely entirely on its accuracy.

Thank you so much.  The family I am interested in is Thomas Jones who married Catherine Powell then she died and he married Margaret williams.  I believe they had sons Thomas and Rees who were shoemakers. And interested in anything thereafter.  Many thanks

Do you have any idea where they lived ie the name of the farm, or house?  'Roots & Branches' does follow some families,  but since they are nearly all called Jones or Davies it helps to have the house name too.

William and Sarah parents of Catherine Powell lived at 29 bishops fawr  as far as Thomas Jones in the early days just says Trecastle ward.  I believe his son lived in loggin terrace boot house.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the book when looking today - what a nuisance, I sorted all the books out in the autumn and can't find a thing!  I'll have another look tomorrow.

Loggin Terrace is a short  row of terraced cottages just off the main road, and they are all still there.  Not sure where Bishops Fawr is, but it might be Tre Esgob, which is the same lane but the other side of the Loggin Brook.  That side used to be owned by the Bishop of St Davids, and Tre Esgob means the Bishop's land or something similar.  Somewhere I might have some photos which show a bit of Loggin Terrace - hopefully they can be found and haven't gone into hiding with the book!

Thank you for taking the time to look for me.
The book is out on cd with parish chest.  If my family are mentioned I will purchase the same.
