Anthony senior died in 1873, according to FreeBMD. I can't see a death for another Anthony, or a Charles, that fits before 1886. A thought occurred to me, is it possible that your Charles' father also came out to Australia?
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

He may have come to Australia, it is a possibility.
I cant even find a death for my Charles .. Its like he just disappeared.

I just purchased Charles A G South's birth cert . Hopefully when that arrives it will open up my research!!

You say you have his "wife's" death certificate; what does it say on there, wife or widow?

That is an indication that he may have deserted his family. What is the last mention you have of him?

Mary died in 1931, on her death cert is states the were married for about 30 years.
Their son Arthur A G died in 1918 and on the funeral notice is does say Mr and Mrs C South.
Their Daughter Rose died in 1929 and that funeral notice states only Mrs M South.

So I think he possibly deserted or died between 1918-1929

His 1st wife Lucy stated desertion as the reason for divorce in 1894.

Is that another son, Charles, who died in 1935? Parents Charles AG and Mary.
