A correction is necessary to the original entry. Evie Haller Gibboney was NOT married to Robert E Gibboney (1810-1867). Robert E Gibboney was her Father. Evie H Gibboney was married to John Edward Major. Thanks Sandra for all your help.

Some more info on Evie's .
The Majors owned a hotel. Robert E Lee stayed there. The Majors were quite well off. There is a story about one of the Gibboneys having a problem with a slave burning down his business. Seems the slave was mad that his wife had been sold. Hard times.

Gibboney originally stems from Gibney in Ireland and means 'lock of hair' in Gaelic or Irish.
