Apologies to everyone who tried to help last night and I now see why you were all confused as I am confused myself so I hope you will all bear with me and I will start again with the information I have.i know peter harvey was baptised on 13 Nov 1859 in the workhouse in Tyrone, his father was Peter harvey a farmer labourer and his mother was Catherine fee,the informant was Sarah and he was illegitimate.although he was baptised in 1859 I do not know when he was born and know nothing of his parents.he came to Glasgow around 1888 and I know him from then on.maybe you can estimate when his mother and father were born and get a lead for me there as its them i really want to know of as I can't get beyond 1859,is it worth paying to have them researched and who would do it?thanks yet again.

I'm a bit puzzled by this bit of your post- the informant was Sarah. I've never seen an 'informant' listed in a baptismal record  :-\

Exactly, josey. I'm wondering if OP has merely put the wrong word or else is looking at a transcription rather than the original baptism register  :-\

Does anyone know if the records for this workhouse survive and can be viewed.
Seems like the only way to get a handle on Catherine, or is it known if she married?
