Hello and welcome to RootsChat !

I think I've probably spotted the family on someone's tree online but , for the sake of clarity, please could you give a bit more information , in particular birth year and place , where you have them , and names and dates of the children. Also please can you tell us what information you already have so we don't waste time looking for that  and tell us what details you would like to find out.

Search continues for the siblings and/or parents of Thomas W. Craven 1816-1880. He married Elizabeth Foster and they had 8 children some born in the Tom's River Ocean county area.
1.Rachel Elizabeth Craven Herd
2John Craven had daughter Ellen Craven ( probably died in war---daughter was at least 15 by 1880)
3 Mary Ann Craven Luker
4.George W. Craven
5. Thomas W. Craven died in 1874
6.Ellen E. Craven Lupton
7. Samuel W. Craven
8. Alanson F. Craven, a photographer in IN and OH.

this is what I have so far....Lanson craven is my  great great grandfather married to Nannie Mcphearson....my great  grandfather is Charles Edgar Craven married to Ora C Johnson...My Grandfather is Carl J Craven married to Marjorie Elva Fisher

You still haven't made it very clear.  Tom's River, Ocean County means nothing to non US members.   Having 'googled' I now know it is in New Jersey, USA.

Have had a look online and see that Thomas W. Craven (none of the records I found show the 'W') was born 15/10/1816 (according to one online tree) in Monmouth, New Jersey, USA.

Alas, I cannot see any online records for New Jersey to answer your query as to his siblings and parents.

1850 Census shows children as:
John bc.1834
Peter bc.1835
Mary Ann bc.1837
Samuel bc.1839
Washington bc.1841 (assuming this is George W.)
James bc.1843
Thomas b.19/3/1850
plus
Ellen E. bc.1852
Alanson Foster b.1857

This makes 9 children (and does not include a Rachel).

Hi Cousin!
My great great grandfather is Thomas W. Craven Jr., Alanson Foster Craven's older brother.
I have a family tree on Ancestry.com.
I just completed the AncestryDNA so that I can find out the CRAVEN link to Thomas W. Craven Sr.'s father.....haven't found the link just yet....but hopeful.
Not even sure how I got to this website......but would love to share information.

Keep in Touch!

P.S. Rachel Ellen Herd/Hurd was John Craven's daughter. John Craven (wife Sarah Elizabeth Saylor) died in the Civil War....Rachel received John's share of Thomas W. Craven Sr's estate when he died. Rachel and Wesley Herd/Hurd lived in Peru, Indiana.
