Family Search Bristol Batch Number
« on: Sunday 24 January 16 22:22 GMT (UK) »
I have found information on John Awre in Family Search Batch No. I041460 does anyone know what church this relates to, I think it might be St Philip and Jacob but without  getting down to Bristol to the Archives I cannot think of another way of finding out which church it relates to.

John was born and baptised in AWRE in February 1661/1662 his marriage to Mary Jane was on 16 February 1687/1688 at St Philip and Jacob Bristol and in the batch number above a Hanna Awre is baptised daughter of John and Mary on 20 December 1689 plus it contains possible other mentions of the family
Can anyone help?

I think its St Stephens church

I searched on the batch number you gave, 1041460, this revealed that the film number is 001595986.
Searching on the film number shows it covers three sets of records

Item 1: Bishop's transcripts for St. Philip and St. Jacob's Church, Bristol, 1679-1852
Author:   Church of England. St. Philip and St. Jacob's Church (Bristol, Gloucestershire)
Add
Item 2: Bishop's transcripts for St. Simon's Church, Bristol, 1868-1870
Author:   Church of England. St. Simon's Church (Bristol, Gloucestershire)
Add
Items 3 - 5: Bishop's transcripts for St. Stephen's Church, Bristol, 1671-1864
Author:   Church of England. St. Stephen's Church (Bristol, Gloucestershire)

looking at each one of these in turn and referencing the film number it appears it can only be St Stephens

(all this done on familysearch)
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Thank you Davidft. You  have taught me something. I agree it looks like St Stephen. If I manage to get to the Archives I will look at the original record.
