One possibility, maybe she wouldn't have been able to continue working if she was married, so the 1924 one was in London to keep it quiet, then more public one 1926 before emigrating?

Good point; and reasonably possible.  However I'm going to put a spoke in the wheel here; considering they embarked April 1926, why go to London in 1924 to marry when the bride and groom where residents of Glamorgan?

Hi Roy,

The reason for them marrying in London in 1924 might be to keep it secret. In the 1920s not many local authorities employed married teachers, I think only London County Council, not sure about your area.

Hi
Here's a good enough reason to return home.
He is named among others in an article in the Shepparton Advertiser (Victoria) Thursday 29 October 1931 titled OVERSEAS SETTLERS BEFORE ROYAL COMMISSION - Stories Of Disappointment, All Seek Definite Relief, Refunds And Compensation Asked For. Some Anxious to Leave Australia, Others Would Remain Conditionally.
MR LYDRIC JENKINS, dairy farmer; at Katandra,: said" he had been farming in Great Britain all his life. Mr. Wyatt had told him of a farmer in Victoria who made £440 per acre' off Potatoes. He secured a block at Katandra at £13/15/ per acre. He had worked hard and had been here four years, and had not been able to make the farm a success.
