I think it likely that Mary McINNES's (nee McPHERSON) mother's name was Margaret.
There are a number of newspaper references to Archibald. Here are some in connection to the marriages of his children.
On Thursday, the 16th February, at St. Bridgets, Raymond Terrace, by the Rev. T. A. Lonergan, Alexander, second son of John McDonald, Four-Mile Creek, to Flora Ann, youngest daughter of Mr. Archibald McPherson.

Deaths.
Died, 11th June, at Miller's Forest, Margaret, the beloved wife of Archibald McPherson, aged 88 years, leaving a family and a large circle of friends and relations. Dearly beloved by all who knew her.

An Obituary
Mr. Archibald McPherson, one of the oldest Residents of Miller's Forrest, passed away to the silent majority yesterday evening. He had attained the good age of 95 years. Up to within a few days of his Death he was well able to get about. He leaves perhaps the greatest number of Relations belonging to one Family in the District to mourn their loss. He was ever a kind father & true Husband & leaves this World of woe without a stain on his character. His remains were Interred to-day (Friday). RAYMOND TERRACE, 8th July, 1887.
