Earlsheaton Cemetery grave no. E66 Consecrated Portion
« on: Friday 29 January 16 12:26 GMT (UK) »
Good Morning

I was wondering if any one would be able to see / photograph a headstone for Archibald Cockcroft, and possibly Alice in the Earlsheaton Cemetery (E66).

Many Thanks in advance

Regards
Moo

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Archibald (Archie) and Alice Cockcroft (Only 2 inscriptions)

It looks like someone has put a new grave surround in black marble in recent years or when Alice died 1992 on an old concrete base of a former headstone of Archie with surround that may have been similar to the other graves near Archie's grave. (See lower post photo) Slightly falling off the base at the feet end of grave

Picture is not that great but its shows where the Grave is in relation with main entrance to the cemetery top right of photo. (You can see Alice inscription to find the grave, about 6th grave in from path or 2nd grave up from right-bottom of photo )

Good hunting

Dobby  :)

Dobfarm

A thank you does not express how grateful I am to you for the above pictures.

I'm over the moon.

I would think half the people in Dewsbury would have viewed Alice's inscription over the recent years as the 268A double decker bus stops right at the side of the wall near the grave at the traffic lights.  ;D  It took 3 minutes to find.  :)
