Location of Suggleson?? Camp NEAR Wilton
« on: Saturday 30 January 16 21:16 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find, on behalf of a lady whose father was an American GI, the location of camps around Wilton and the names  we think the name was something like Suggleson ?? camp as that is where this chap was based during his time in the area 1942-45.
Can anybody assist or point me in the direction where I might find the info.
Thanks for your time

Fugglestone Camp.later United Kingdom Land Forces, has only very recently been demolished, and currently purchased by large house building contractors, massive housing development in process.
Its a large piece of land on the right hand side of The Avenue,at Wilton.not all of it was sold by MoD,part retained.
For the record, there was also a large wartime GI presence stationed in Grovely Wood,on part of the Pembroke estate, access was from Wilton, where ammunition was stored in large quantities.
Its just possible that their archivist may have information. Brionne.
