I am the Great Grandaughter of Albert S Jeffery -

I'm now stuck on my research.

It seems like you are the Great Great granddaughter of Albert S Jeffery

Just to summarise

grandmother
Yolande Louise Crowder (looks like Louisa  was her Grandmother's name)

great grandfather
Reginald William Crowder (baptised 12 Nov 1893 parents Charles Wigley  Crowder & Louise)
great grandmother Edith Victoria Jeffery (Edith's parents were Albert Speed Jeffery & Louisa Parr. Edith stayed at one time with her widowed mother Charlotte

so Albert Speed Jeffery and Emma were Yolande's grandparents

Yolande had 2 siblings -not sure where they lived

As Suz said Albert is proving rather difficult to find prior to the 1891.

'Clutching at straws' here  :)  :) -

I wonder if he was born Albert Speed (bearing in mind his death/probate record records the name Speed for both him and Emma)

There is this birth -

Albert Speed
q4 1873, Radford, Nottinghamshire
Vol 7b Page 242

As yet I cannot find the above on the 1881.

Marriage for the above George Speed -

George Speed
q4 1880, Leicester
Vol 7a Page 429

On the same page is Mary Ann Briggs.

The name Briggs appears on the 1881 for the Speed family -

It seems (to me) Albert Edward & Wilfred were Yolande's Uncles - but as she was raised with them she probably thought of them as her brothers.
Her birth siblings were Marie Jeffery whose birth and death were registered in the same quarter -Dec qtr 1921

there was another sister birth reg Dec 1925 - she possibly married Jun qtr 1962 Bakewell - I cannot post her name as she may still be living
