Hello, looking to find out a little more of this war nurses life after ww1. I know she was born in 1890 at Haverfield, Pembrokeshire. I know her background in the great war serving in Corsica. I really just want to know what happened to her after the war. As always thank you for having a look.

Hi,
Sorry, can't find anything else.
My Great Aunt was a nurse in WW1, I cannot find any info on her.
She was killed in the Quintins Hill train Crash in 1915.
Her family were told she dies in a troupe train crash, but it was only in 2006 I found out the details, all I had was the year. I have looked every where. The Nurses were never listed. I found 1 nurse's death in France and another died years later in Galway.

Just got this, her Mother and Fathers marriage. There was a few travel records but most were Mrs Lilian Mary Oliver.
A few trees different mothers names, so sorry but that's about it.

Hi Alan

I have Lilian Margaret OLIVER in my tree and I've also been trying to find out what became of her.   She was working at the Savernake Hospital in Marlborough in 1911 and I've assumed the military nurse in Ajaccio was her.   Do you know it for certain?

There is a tree on Ancestry that says she died in London in 1968 but nothing to back that up.   I couldn't find a death registration under OLIVER so I searched the probate records and there it says "see LEWIS".   Under LEWIS it says she died on 23rd April 1968.

Going back to cross-check I can see that Lilian M OLIVER married William H. LEWIS at Islington in Q2 1921.   The reference is 1B 654.

Without getting the relevant certificates I don't think any of this is proof that it's the right person, but if it isn't then she seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.

Penholder,  Yes she did work at Ajaccio as a nurse. My web site might help explain her roll. http://scottishwomenshospitals.co.uk  Basically the units were in Corsica to support Serbian civilians who survived the Serbian Retreat of 1915.

Great work everyone

It's a great website!   What wonderful work those women did and in frequently awful circumstances.   Thank you so much for the extra information I can now add to my notes.

Aunty Peg died in my mother's house in Plymouth 23rd April 1968.
She lived in Alexandra Mansions Judd St. WC1 for many years. My mother Dorothy Annie Davies, Peg's niece died 4/9/2017 aged 99.
I would love to know more about Peg's nursing history.
This is my first use of this site so please excuse any misuse!
