Hi Mike

My research since my last post shows that Lilian M. OLIVER was a nurse with the British Committee of the French Red Cross at the Scottish Women's Hospital in Ajaccio from 11th April 1918 to 8th October 1918.   She was granted the Distinguished Conduct Medal and the Military Medal.

The UK and Ireland Nursing Registers are on Ancestry.   They show she registered as a nurse in London on 18th January 1924.   She appears in the registers from 1925 to 1946 at least.

Please accept my condolences regarding your mother's death.   She did awfully well to get to 99!

Hi Penholder!
Thank very much; Do you have any information about the awards? Peg had a sister, Nell, also a nurse; I know nothing about her life, except that she was single and lived in London near sister Peg, her correct name was
Ellen Owen Oliver born July 5th 1891 at Talbenny Pembs.
Any information or guidance would be welcome.
Mike

Hi Mike

If you have access to Ancestry you will see that The Royal College of Nursing registers show both Ellen Owen OLIVER and Lilian Margaret OLIVER at various address, mainly in London, from 1925 to 1946 and also give details of where they trained.

If you have access to find my past you will see a lot of the OLIVER children, including Lilian and Ellen, in the School Registers for Talbenny, Walton West and Haverfordwest.   You will also find Lilian and Ellen in the 1939 Register.

Both sites show some info on Lilian's war work.

Please feel free to PM me.

Regards,

Diana
