As assisted immigrants,
Robert and Isabella DRYSDALE arrived at Port Chalmers on the
Pladda on 8.9.1861. I am assuming they were a married couple.

He was aged 46 years, therefore born about 1819. A farmer, born in Scotland. Years in New Zealand, three.
A Jane Drysdale, born Scotland was buried in the same plot. She died on 12.1.1884, aged 62, therefore born about 1822.
When searching for the death of an Isabella Drysdale, the NZ BDM index brought up
Isabella SNEDDON.Isabella Sneddon died on 27.6.1880, buried East Taieri Cemetery. She was aged 60 years, therefore born about 1820. Cemetery records show her as "wife of David". Native of Scotland.
Her funeral notice:
http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&cl=search&d=ESD18800628.2.20.2&srpos=1&e=--1880---1880--10-ESD%2cODT%2cOW-1----2+sneddon--I have not found a marriage for Isabella Drysdale to David Sneddon in New Zealand.
At this stage I would prefer not to purchase any printouts as I really need more information, if possible, to determine whether or not these Drysdales are indeed "mine", although I realise that this may be a tall order given the short amount of time Robert, Isabella & Jane lived in New Zealand.
My family would have come from Midlothian.
Were the Robert & Isabella Drysdale who arrived together in 1861, the same Robert who died in 1865 and Isabella Sneddon who died in 1880? And was Jane Drysdale a sister of Robert?
I look forward to your response...........
MInniehaha.
