Street name in Largs (re William Johnston (1899-1952))

Hello. Am wondering if someone familiar with the Largs area could please help determine what street is referred to on [a] birth registration in 1899?  William Johnston was born on 13 January 1899 in Largs at 43 [Kelem] Street.  I've attached the scan of the registration.  He's the middle entry.  Kelem / Helem ... could[n't] see an option on Google Maps.  Thank you!

For interest, he emigrated to Western Australia at some point and married Doris WRAY in 1923, which is where he's connected to me.

Nelson Street is located about 200m North of Largs Pier, running E-W off the main coast road to Gourock.

The property named Auchinhean is now the site of Nardini's 1930's Art Deco cafe.
