That is exactly what I said was the real Henry Maher. Correct name, dates, location...everything is correct. The family of Henry say it's not him because none of the family have mental problems. I tried to explain that lunatic could be anything..he had probably separated from his wife by then and could very well have been suffering from depression. Maybe he took to the bottle, did something wrong and was brought to the attention of the authorities..hence depotation. Poor man, how sad. On the divorce papers the reason is givin as cruelty and neglect. Common reasons I believe.

So the death certificate has different parents' names, different place/date of birth I'm guessing, and different informant than someone in the family and the obituary has entirely different siblings, but that's still not enough proof for them?

I imagine every family everywhere has at least some distant relative with mental problems.  In those days, I bet anything from traumatic brain injury to epilepsy to syphilis could have caused symptoms that may have been mistaken for "insanity".

This appears to be the birth record for his sister Minerva who was the informant for the death record - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X6VS-HNL

That's why I don't believe that it's our Henry. Henry Maher didn't have a sister, Minerva
