It's very possible that when Jane/Jean came to Australia, she went to wherever her brother was, so  starting the search in WA:

Using the WA Reverse Marriage index, and searching Jane or Jean or Janet, with MacLEOD or McLEOD there are two possibilities to look into:

Jean McLEOD
Charles J COLE 1930

Jean MacLEOD
Harry G GODDEN 1934

Using Trove,  there was a Harry GODDEN involved with Golf. This article from 3 Sep 1935:

Harry Godden, thrice amateur golf champion and 1929 open champion of Western Australia, and one of the most polished stylists in the State, won the open championship of Western Australia again today, after a thrilling battle over 72 holes….

What can I say - you guys are amazing!

It's a very sad end to the story, as expected, but I am still pleased to have found out what happened to her.  It is apparent that there were no children but I will at least try to contact some Godden relatives.

John & Beryl had sent some photos of themselves to my grandmother, Elizabeth (the Leba mentioned in the death notice) as late as the 1960's and I am sure they would have mentioned children if they had any.  (Should have done more research before posting the topic, of course).

Therefore, with grateful thanks, I think we can now close this topic.

May you receive as many acts of kindness as you give!

Best wishes,
Gill
